The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) of the University of Hong Kong was found in May 1973. Since its inception, the Department of IMSE has witnessed Hong Kong's transformation from a manufacturing oriented centre into a major international service and financial center, and in its moving towards a knowledge-based economy. Over the years, the Department has proactively respond to these developments, and have successfully educated highly talented and competent graduates to meet the needs of society. Recently, the Department has placed new emphases on logistics and technology management to support Hong Kong's quest to become a world-class logistics and innovation center.
